Your Story, All of Our Stories

Imagine a place that offers access to a vast collection of original documents and artifacts dating back thousands space. The NLI built and expanded the new state of the art library in Jerusalem between the Knesset and Israel Museum and had its grand reopening a few months ago. Unfortunately it, coincided with the start of the war.

All the hard work and planning has come to fruition, and the opening event went according to plan. Visitors worldwide can now access these precious pieces of history in person and onlineand learn more about our rich Jewish heritage. However, what struck me is how the old building was transformed into a learning park and classroom space for children affected by the war. This indeed demonstrated the resilience and strength of the people of Israel.

The antique manuscripts being pulled by robots; exciting, interactive displays on a giant 65-ft. screen; ancient incantation bowls; rare recordings of cultural ceremonies; and much more are all a part of the library. It is hard to believe all that can be found at the National Library of Israel. This attests to the spirit of our people, who have mastered the ability to blend modernity with tradition in an ever-changing world.

Take time to see everything available for yourself.
