Purim Megillah Without Names: A Whole Class Activity

image description

Reading Megillat Esther (the Scroll of Esther) is one of the four mitzvot associated with Purim. This lesson gives students the opportunity to recall the important figures in the Purim narrative and to review the roles that they played in the narrative’s events.

In this whole-class activity, the students are provided a megillah with the characters’ names removed. Students must place cards with the characters’ names in the correct places to complete the story.

This activity is best suited for K-2nd grades and 3rd-5th grades
Can be adapted as a Purim carnival booth.
The teachers’ guide includes the names.
